nc. magazine ranked GLOBO #344 on its 36th annual Inc. 5000, the most prestigious ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. Making its third appearance on the list, GLOBO continues to outperform the national average for expansion with an outstanding three-year sales growth of 1280%.
As CEO Gene Schriver explains, “The last three years we have seen tremendous growth thanks to our customers who understand the importance of communicating to their culturally and linguistically diverse consumers. We share this recognition with our customers, partners, employees and our world-class linguists.”
For a fourth year, GLOBO is being recognized on the Philadelphia 100®, a project by the Wharton Small Business Development Center and the Entrepreneurs’ Forum of Greater Philadelphia, which honors the 100 fastest growing, privately held entrepreneurial companies in the Greater Philadelphia Region.
GLOBO previously ranked #34 (2014), #8 (2015) and #6 (2016). GLOBO’s 2017 ranking will be revealed at the Philadelphia 100 Awards ceremony on October 26th.
What inspired Gene Schriver to launch GLOBO back in 2010? It was a leap of faith that was “equal parts excitement and full panic.” Schriver told his story and explained why he founded GLOBO in the July 23 edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Read about Schriver’s passion for language services, and how GLOBO helps businesses – spanning across healthcare, gaming and museums – support their limited-English-speaking populations on Philly.com.
Eager to find more opportunities to get involved in the Philadelphia area, three members of GLOBO’s Service Committee – Michael Dombkoski, JD Schiff, and Sam Semanek – joined Volunteering Untapped PHL, an organization that coordinates local volunteer opportunities with a different non-profit organization each month.
“The first event we volunteered for was with the Nationalities Service Center, an organization that helps refugees and immigrants acclimate to the Philly area. As someone who works in the language services industry, it's obviously a topic very close to my heart,” said Dombkoski.
VU PHL is a great opportunity for people who are interested in volunteering in the local community, while interacting with other Philadelphians who are passionate about service. I would definitely encourage others to check it out. " |
To kick off the new school year, GLOBO's Service Committee organized a back-to-school drive to support elementary and middle school aged children in our local community.
As part of the drive, GLOBO employees collected much-needed school supplies – like backpacks, notebooks, calculators, and pencils – to help youth excel in the classroom.
