Overcoming the Understanding Gap

The Limited English speaking and Deaf and Hard of Hearing populations are the fastest-growing and most vulnerable, with the Journal of Health Communication reporting that 44.9% of Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals report low health literacy versus just 13.8% of English speakers. The Understanding Gap is responsible for higher cancellations, higher readmissions, worse health outcomes, and health system inefficiencies. We're on a mission to fix it.

Language Access Innovation Council

The Language Access Innovation Council was born out of a simple idea: we're better when we talk to each other. Simple, novel solutions are discovered when people across the continuum of care spend time on the challenges together. The Council meets once per quarter to provide feedback and problem solve.
