June at GLOBO was a month dedicated to celebrating and promoting the well-being of our employees. Our Wellness Month was a success, highlighting the importance of self-care and community involvement. This initiative, spearheaded by our People Operations Manager, Sarah Gross, showcased GLOBO's commitment to fostering a supportive and healthy work environment.

The Reasoning Behind Wellness Month

Wellness Month began as a week-long series of wellness sessions and has evolved into a full month of diverse activities. The primary goal is to encourage employees to prioritize their well-being, both inside and outside, and it's crucial we take time to care for ourselves." This year, we expanded our efforts to include resources within GLOBO and community events, making the experience more enriching for everyone involved.

Activities & Participation

This year's Wellness Month featured various activities catering to different aspects of well-being. Some of the most popular sessions included: 

Over the past few years, GLOBO has experienced remarkable growth. GLOBO was ranked #66 in the 2022 Nimdzi 100, and in 2023 was ranked #61, as well as #13 on the 2023 Nimdzi Interpreter Index. This upward trajectory underscores our dedication to excellence and ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the language services industry. 

  • Cultural Conversations with Mitch Parker, Interpreter Instructor: An engaging discussion that fostered cultural awareness and inclusivity with an interpreter. These conversations are to give us the opportunity to learn about different cultures.
  • Financial Wellness Seminars: These sessions offered valuable insights into financial planning and security, teaching financial well-being. 
  • Pride Participation in Indianapolis: Employees celebrated diversity and inclusion by walking in the local Pride Parade in Indianapolis and writing cards of support to local organizations. 
  • Enneagram Sessions with Francesca Mayr, Vice President, Innovation and Experience: Helping employees understand their personalities and improve interpersonal relationships. 

These activities were well-attended and received positive feedback from participants. Employees appreciated the opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with their colleagues meaningfully.  

Impact on Company Culture

The success of Wellness Month speaks volumes about GLOBO's company culture. By organizing these events, GLOBO demonstrates its dedication to employee well-being and personal development. Gross said,

Gross and her team carefully selected events that would be inclusive and beneficial for all employees. "We wanted to diversify our offerings and ensure everyone felt included in the conversation," Gross explained.
