September 2021 – GLOBO has announced the customer onboarding of OSF HealthCare, an integrated health system offering services across Illinois and Michigan.
OSF HealthCare’s language access goals were clear: find a provider that had the ability to consolidate language services to a single vendor; integrate language support into their current virtual health platforms; and gain a holistic partner that could act as an extension of their internal language access initiatives.
Prior to partnering with GLOBO, OSF was experiencing difficulties in coordinating language support for video appointments. With a high Spanish-speaking population, it was critical to find a solution that could integrate seamlessly in order to ensure equitable care to all patients.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with the team at OSF,” says Ed Regan, Director of Sales at GLOBO. “Our goal has always been to act as a true partner -- ensuring our customers have the ability to provide equal access to all, no matter what language they speak. As we continue to work closely with OSF HealthCare, we’re looking forward to providing their facilities with the tools necessary to do just that.”
OSF HealthCare consists of 147 locations, including 14 hospitals, and two colleges of nursing throughout Illinois and Michigan. In 2020, for the ninth year in a row, OSF was awarded the CHIME Digital Health Most Wired recognition from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). The award is based on a survey that assesses how effectively healthcare organizations apply core and advanced technologies into their clinical and business programs to improve health and care in their communities.
In addition to innovative technological initiatives, GLOBO is working closely with OSF to provide educational resources for providers and staff. The health system has shown significant interest in equipping employees with the tools and resources needed to provide the highest quality care to all patients, no matter what language they speak.
“The team at OSF has continuously championed the importance of a holistic partnership with their language support provider,” says Matt Vizza, Account Executive. “It’s always exciting to work with customers who place an emphasis on providing great experiences for the limited-English speaking population and are willing to take on internal initiatives to achieve that goal.”
What will a successful partnership look like? GLOBO’s Director of Customer Experience, Alec Kissell, says the first step is integrating GLOBO’s proprietary platform, GLOBO HQ, into OSF’s current virtual appointment program. This initiative is especially important as telehealth becomes increasingly critical following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
